This seasonal position could be based in Peru, Marion, Wabash or Huntington, IN.
Travel to other Beacon locations will be periodically required as equipment installs and maintenance needs dictate.
RoleThe summer internship program will provide the student with experience that will be beneficial to both the student and the department.
The intern will be exposed to multiple areas of the department through various IT duties and projects.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesLearns the technical operations of assigned BCU applications or electronic systems and then provides quality first responder support to specific end user and/or corporate wide issues with those systems.
Organizes, updates and prioritizes help desk ticket requests.
Troubleshoots problems with electronic systems, including hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems.
Makes repairs and corrections where required.
Installs, assembles and configures computers, thin clients, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware.
Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
Conducts company-wide inventory of IT equipment assets and updates and updates the information into the company's tracking software.
Performs inspection/cleaning of equipment such as PCs, printers, check scanners, receipt printers, signature pads, etc.
Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
Implements solutions or notifies appropriate personnel as needed.
Assists with various projects as needed and job shadows in various areas of the department as time and interest allow.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
ExperienceNone required, but some IT experience is a plus.
EducationCurrent college student pursuing a degree in IT or a related field.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed indoors in an office environment with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards.
Employee may be exposed to dust and dirt while running cables at new or renovated branches.
At times, the employee may be working in environments that are under construction.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employee will regularly travel to other; similar sites.
Employee may occasionally work extended hours, including overnight, to ensure proper system functionality.
Standard position hours are 8 a.
m.
to 5 p.
m.
Monday through Friday and 8 a.
m.
to noon on Saturday.
However, some after business work hours may be needed from time-to-time.
When working a Saturday morning, the employee will standardly receive a half-day afternoon off during the same calendar week.
Reliable transportation and flexibility are requested.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
