Manufacturing Engineer
Peru, Indiana
As our Manufacturing Engineer, you will analyze current work processes in order to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration using Lean and Six Sigma and other continuous-improvement concepts. You will investigate, develop, propose and implement cost-saving measures regarding the manufacture of products, and establish and maintain a quality process program throughout the plant, in accordance with quality standards advocated by the company, including all applicable ISO 9000 processes and procedures. Youll train operators on new equipment, and encourage feedback about the machines, fixtures and other equipment. Additionally, youll oversee the installation and startup of new equipment and initiate any modifications as necessary.
To qualify, you must hold a Bachelors degree in Engineeringpreferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial, or possess the equivalent (10 years) in experience. You may be a new grad, or have up to two years of process engineering experience that encompasses all of the job functions above. Desired (but not necessary) attributes include: ability to create assembly drawings of equipment, fixtures and electrical diagrams using AutoCAD; update DFT documents used in the manufacturing process; utilize LabVIEW to work with data acquisition; write and troubleshoot new PLC programs; and modify and update existing PLC programs. A background in the steel or automotive industries is preferred. This position involves up to 25% of travel to other HEN facilities (domestic and internationally), with the possibility of customer visits, as well.
